What is this all about?

Many of you know that for the past two summers, we have had the honor of traveling to San Jose Pinula, Guatemala to preach the Good News of Jesus Christ. While there, I had the privilege to meet and work with Francisco and Sarah Smith and their ministry team, Brazos Abiertos which is known as Cross Culture Jesus in the United States.

Last year while visiting the Brazos Abiertos ministry base in the heart of San Jose Pinula, the Lord began to speak to me about supporting their ministry. When Sarah and I talked, I asked about their greatest needs. She shared the need to hire a staff person to teach Bible lessons in Las Fraijanes, a village primarily unreached with the Gospel. Most of the people in Las Fraijanes have never heard about the saving grace of our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ.

I began to pray and the Lord has given us something that I believe is so powerful and will impact and bless our families until the Great Return of the Lord!

We are so blessed to be heirs of a Godly heritage. We were raised to serve the Lord. We are familiar with reading the Bible, prayer meetings, Sunday school, first and second services, Homecoming Sundays, Revivals and the privilege of trusting in Jesus. What a friend we have in Jesus! ...all our sins and griefs to bear! We know to call on the Lord. It is our history. It is our heritage.

As a family, let's give financially to carry the Gospel into Las Fraijanes. The average yearly salary in Guatelmala is about $3,000.

What if our family joined in one accord to give, so children and their families will hear the Gospel message and give their lives to the Jesus we were taught to trust.

I believe the Lord has put in my heart for our family to do what the Apostle Paul instructed the Corinthian church to do, "You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don't give reluctantly or in response to pressure. 'For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.' And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others." (II Corinthians 9:7-8, New Living Translation)

By faith, our gifts will total $3,000 or more!

I have spoken with Sarah Smith. The ministry will use our gifts to hire someone for a year. The person they hire will teach Bible lessons in Las Fraijanes.

Below, look for the link to Sarah's website. There you can read more information about the ministry's work in Guatemala. On the website, please refer to the "How You Can Help" page for specific information about giving.

As you pray about your giving, there are a couple of ways to offer your gift. If contributing by check or money order, please make directly payable to Sarah's ministry. You may mail your check or money order to me, and I will forward to Sarah. Or, you may send directly to the ministry. If you send directly to the ministry, please note, "Jones, Moss, and Pollard Family and Friends Gift" on the memo line. If you give by credit card on the ministry website, please let me know, so I may share your name as part of our family gift.

I will keep you posted on our progress. I aspire to reach our goal by August 15th.

God bless you for your generosity as we send a laborer to reap a harvest of souls for the Lord of Harvest, Jesus the Christ who reigns forevermore! Amen!
